CHICAGO, IL - November 14, 2008 - The Chicago Training Center (CTC), an Illinois not-for-profit 501(C)(3) corporation (www.chicagotrainingcenter.org), celebrates its second annual 2008 Gala Event "Ready Set Row!" for underserved Chicago youth with a fundraiser at South Shore Cultural Center on Friday, November 14th from 5:30-11:00 p.m.
Gala keynote speakers:
Emmy Award nominated Leda Santodomingo of Telemundo Chicago will host the evening's festivities;
Third term Illinois 37th Secretary-of-State Hon. Jesse White and Founder of the internationally acclaimed Jesse White Tumblers;
Emmy Award nominated Christian Farr of WTTW-11's "Chicago Tonight;"
ABC-7 Chicago #1 ranked weekend news program Co-Anchor Karen Jordan; and
CTC Executive Director's Award Honoree Juan Rangel-United Neighborhood Organization- (UNO).
Fun Philanthropy
The CTC free rowing instruction, tutoring and fitness program has opened sculling to a diverse group of underserved Chicago Public School (CPS) students. Support the CTC program and attend Ready... Set... Row!" and join the fun-filled evening of Qino One Vodka cocktails from Top Shelf Imports (www.qino1vodka.com), food, music and exclusive auction items. Afterparty to be held at RedNo5 (www.rednofive.com).
Thanks to the support of accomplished organizations, Illinois US Congressman Danny K. Davis, and sponsorships such as The Thomas M. & Julie E.Scott Foundation, Bank of America, and law firms; Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, Sidley Austin LLP, and Goldberg Kohn, CTC has achieved remarkable results doubling its student membership. Individual benefactors, including Bob and Nathaniel Wootton, who joined CTC at the 2008 Oxford Cambridge Boat Race in London, are core to organization's success in providing a broad reach of services to Chicago youth.
